HIV/AIDS Initiative

McKenna Center partnered with:

• Goal is to build capacity at McKenna Center to raise awareness and offer referral services to men and women

• The 11:00am daily McKenna Center Meeting offers those struggling with HIV/AIDS tailored messages focusing on nutrition, spiritual, emotional and physical health to promote HIV prevention every Thursday.

• HIV service providers, ministers, and People Living With Aids (PWAs) have been frequent speakers at the 11:00 support group meeting

McKenna Center also partnered with HIV Service Groups:

• Partnership offers HIV testing & counseling at McKenna

• The McKenna Center has now been trained as a "point of entry" for the HIV-infected who need to apply for free HIV medication through the District of Columbia's AIDS Drug Assistance Program
